Quick guide: EU/EFTA citizens can work freely in Germany. Citizens of the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Israel, and the UK can enter Germany and apply for a residence permit within 90 days. All other nationalities need to apply for an au pair visa at the German embassy before traveling (this can take 2–3 months or longer). You must also be 18–26 years old and have at least A1-level German.

We don't own a car in Berlin — cycling is the fastest way to get around, and we use a cargo bike for daycare drop-off. You don't need to be a pro, but being comfortable on a bike is important.

We have Vasco, a 12-year-old rescue from Tenerife. He's small and very sweet.

You don't need to be vegetarian — we just want someone who's happy eating what we eat. We do some eggs, dairy, and occasional fish.
